It's the most important meal of the day, they say. And for good reason: breakfast jump starts your metabolism, provides energy for the day ahead, and helps you make better food choices later in the day. So why do so many people skip it?
Skipping breakfast can make you more likely to indulge later on in the day, leading to weight gain and other potential health problems. In this post, I will walk you through 5 reasons why you should eat breakfast every day as well as 5 reasons why people tend to skip it. Let's get started!
Here are the main reasons why breakfast IS the most important meal of the day.
1. Eating breakfast balances blood sugar levels. Studies show that eating a healthy, balanced breakfast can help keep your blood sugar levels in check all day long. This works by providing your body with essential nutrients that it will need throughout the day.
2. Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism. Eating breakfast right after you wake up can activate the process of stimulating your metabolism. It does this by providing you with the energy you need to burn more calories and fat throughout the day.
3. Breakfast boosts energy levels. One of the main benefits of eating breakfast is that it can give you the energy you need to start your day off right. To get the most out of your breakfast, you will want to begin your morning with a healthy breakfast full of protein and fibre.
4. Breakfast promotes heart health. Another benefit to breakfast is that it helps to promote a healthy heart. It does this by lowering your cholesterol. Eating a healthy breakfast prompts your body to get started on digesting your food which is good for your heart.
5. Breakfast stimulates the brain. Eating breakfast is essential to waking up your brain and body and getting it functioning at its best. Studies show that people who eat breakfast experience improved cognitive function and memory.
1. Not enough time in the morning
